Remember to have your Horse Identification Paper completed, Coggins and Certificate of Veterinary Inspection. Wyoming requires Brand Inspections. From my experience in 2005 in Gillette, we were required to pay for the brand inspection even though our horse had no brand. When you unload your horse it would probably be safe to have the $10.50 in hand to save time...it will be MANDATORY before you leave the grounds.

All Star Team members...remember to pack your shirts for the Team Photo to be taken on Tuesday, July 20th @ 6:30 PM in the rough stock arena.

Be sure to read through your tentative schedule of events. All- Around Champions have a group photo scheduled for Monday at 6:30pm....be sure to pick up your award: Resistol Hat and wear it for the picture. Pick-up is at the Boot Barn Store in Gillette from 10am to 5pm Monday.

Attention Seniors: The Martin's IGA BBQ downtown after the parade and the Chuck Wagon breakfast on Saturday morning at State Finals, are events that are put on to support the Scholarship Foundation. Senior contestants are asked to help since this is to help the scholarship fund. Participation is strictly voluntary on the contestants part although it is quite impressive to see the seniors get off the rodeo float and go to work at the BBQ. Martin's IGA employees donate their time and hlp with the BBQ. Working those events does not give the applicant any more recognition with points, etc., it is just a show of appreciation from the contestants to those who help support the Scholarship Foundation. Helping with either event or both events is strictly voluntary on behalf on student contestants. For those of you that choose to help, i would like to thank you from the IHSR Foundation board. Sincerely, Steve Eli IHSR Foundation Secretary.
The IHSR Foundation scholarship information packets were placed in the mail Monday morning May 17th. Hopefully all seniors will receive their letters before this weekend's Anna Rodeo. Reminder that actual applications may be picked up on Thursday morning of State Finals Rodeo weekend beginning around 8:30 A.M. The Illinois Department of Agriculture donates $500 per date to our district association. In exchange on each assigned date, IHSRA District # 2 will provide 10 workers and two adult supervisors. As in past years at the mid winter district meeting, a resolution was passed to assess a fee of $50 to all District #2 members not taking part in the fundraiser. The $50 fee must be paid prior to participating in our district rodeo The Department of Ag requires participation permission forms & liability waivers for every volunteer. Any person under 18 must have a parent / guardian signature. Please contact Catherine Metsker to schedule your volunteer date. 6/25/09: Attention NHSFR Qualifiers: You may want to discuss this with your vet when you have your health certificates done. ON BEHALF
OF BETH UTLEY - TRES RIOS HS RODEO - NHSFR HOST COMMITTEE Morbidity
is high but mortality is low. Humans have sometimes been infected with an
influenza-like disease. Actual
healing of lesions may take 34-59 days. There he has state inspectors inspecting New Mexico and Texas horses. Also all horses from concerned states will be checked and health certificates written when they leave Gallup. He anticipates the same for NHSFR. He has spoken with Canada and the rumors are true. Horses
that come down will have to go to another state and be quarantined there for 3
weeks before being allowed back in Canada. Individual
State Vets will determine what restrictions will be placed on horses coming to
Farmington and returning to their home state. Dr. Joe P. Quintana
